THE SWEET PROJECT
Students at Work in European Enterprises through Training   
This project of placements of students forms part of the strategy of Provincia di Novara - Assessorato Istruzione - which has started since 1998 when the first students have been placed during summer in companies for work experiences to Europe.

In 1998 the Provincia di Novara promoted the GILIOT project under the Leonardo programme (Germany Italy Link for the Improvement of Office Training ) that opened to a European dimension of work experiences for 8 Italian students which were placed in local firms in the German town of Soest.

In 1999 the first edition of S.W.E.E.T. (Students at Work in European Enterprises through Training ) gave 42 students the chance to visit six European countries and work.

In 2000 SWEET II continued with success and in 2001 this third edition of the project will send to Europe 70 students.

The students are attending schools in Italy in different specialisation and also the languages they know are different and the project wants equal opportunities for all kind of schools to attend work experiences abroad. Students have at least  a basic knowledge of one of the following languages: French, English, German or Spanish.

SWEET wants to arrange  work experience placements of Italian students 17 - 19 y.o. ( males and females) attending high schools in Italy with the following different specialisations:

The placements are focused to make work experiences and would be set at local firms, the lenght of placements being 3 or 5 weeks.

The intention is to send the students to the partner (i.e. University, school, enterprise or association of enterprises ). In case the partner is a school or a University it is expected that these partners will select companies for work experience.
